ANTI-DUMPING COMMISSION
Monday, July 1, 2013
First day of official business for new Anti-Dumping Commission The Anti-Dumping Commission is a new administration that has a dedicated focus on investigating allegations of dumping and subsidization of goods, and identifying and better addressing deliberate circumvention of measures which undermines Australia's anti-dumping system. The establishment of the Commission was the primary recommendation of the Brumby Review, and demonstrates the Government's commitment to strengthening Australia's anti-dumping and countervailing system. With a new office in Melbourne—an important hub for Australian manufacturing, industry and business—the Commission will be well positioned to effectively engage with range of stakeholders to continue the implementation of reforms that meet Australia's World Trade Organization obligations, while at the same time facilitate fair trade and deliver a better system for Australian industry.
