China Southern Airlines has revealed plans to introduce daily direct services between Guangzhou and Brisbane from 21 November 2013.
The flight will depart Brisbane at 9.55am each day arriving in Guangzhou at 4.55pm the same day, with a journey time of approximately nine hours. Connecting flights to Beijing, Shanghai and throughout China are also available.
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) general manager airline and commercial businesses Andrew Brodie said the decision by China Southern to provide direct daily connections between Brisbane and Guangzhou was to be applauded.
"China Southern has been servicing Brisbane for three years, providing flights into the heart of one of China's busiest business regions and bringing hundreds of thousands of inbound tourists to Brisbane and Queensland each year.
"Last financial year, Chinese passenger numbers leapt 16 per cent to over 200,000 for the first time.
"The new non-stop daily services will provide greater choice, convenience and flexibility for travellers and cargo and play a pivotal role in improving our connectivity with the world," Mr Brodie said.
China Southern will operate a brand new A330 jet on the route, which seats 216 passengers and boasts the latest in on-board product such as seat-back personal entertainment units in economy and lie-flat sleeper seats in business.
