Online sales slow in June
Online sales growth slowed in June on fewer major product launches and fewer Fridays, which are often a peak day for online sales, according to a private survey.
In June 2013, online sales grew 14 per cent compared with June 2012, the National Australia Bank Ltd Online Retail Sales Index found.
This compares with 17 per cent year-on-year growth in May, as the index slowed for the second straight month to post the second-weakest growth rate since the survey started.
NAB Chief Economist Alan Oster said the slowing may be because June 2013 had only four Fridays, typically a peak day for online sales, compared with five in June 2012.
