In accordance with Patricks Terminal new weighing solution to help drive safety across the container handling sector, containers will be randomly selected for weighing on the Pondus Stand and mis-declared containers will have a charge placed on the relevant transport company for Imports or the shipping line for Exports.
For Import container selected and found mis-declared, Shipping lines will convey the email from Patricks to the Consignee and/or their Agent. Patricks will directly invoice the transport company. This will not stop the transport from picking-up the container provided that all customs impediment is clear and shipping line PIN is in place
For Export container selected and found mis-declared by Patricks, from 19th of July 2021, Shipping lines in an effort to avoid unnecessary delays on exports will convey the email from Patricks to the Shipper and/or their Agent, and facilitate the billing of the Amendment Weight Fee stated on the letter. The charge will be invoiced by Shipping lines as Additional Export Service Charge (AES) prepaid to the Shipper or their Agent
Pondus has been successfully proven to be effective in detecting mis-declared containers in regard to their verified gross mass (VGM). If the Shipper or Consignee, and/or their Agent is to dispute the invoice, be advised the cost to move, detention and demurrage, and all other costs not mentioned here that may incur will be at their expense.
We want to thank you for your business and look forward to continuously serving your global transportation needs.
