We have been actively working to retrieve import containers and return export containers at US East Coast and Gulf Coast ports that were closed last week due to the workers' strike. As expected, most terminals remain heavily congested. While we successfully managed to pick up some containers over the weekend, the ongoing congestion and limited appointment availability prevented us from collecting all available import containers.
Our teams are committed to making import cargo accessible at all of our Container Freight Stations (CFSs) while efficiently loading export containers and returning them to terminals in a timely manner to await their scheduled vessels.
Additionally, several of the newly announced surcharges by carriers have been canceled, and we are awaiting confirmation on others. However, we are facing increased drayage costs at certain terminals, as drivers often sit idle for several hours while waiting to deliver or pick up equipment. These costs will be passed through at actual expense in accordance with the terms and conditions of your ocean transportation contract with LMF Logistics.
We are continuously updating our website with the most current shipment statuses.
