Dear Valued Customer,
As you may be aware, several recent fee increases have been announced by stevedores and empty container parks. As a result, Loch M. Fraser has no option but to pass these increases on.
You can download the updated tariff by clicking [HERE].
We have revised the way we present terminal charges to provide greater transparency. Each individual charge imposed by the stevedores is now itemized, ensuring clearer insight into costs. Our invoicing will soon reflect this updated structure.
The Victorian Government has introduced a pricing protocol requiring all three Melbourne stevedores to adjust their fees on a common date—January 1st each year. In compliance, all stevedores have implemented fee increases at varying levels. Please find attached our new terminal ancillary charges, effective January 1st, 2025.
Following the stevedores' fee adjustments, several empty container parks have implemented substantial increases to their notification fees, with more expected to follow. Our revised Empty Container Park fee is attached.
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), in collaboration with state and local governments, has reinforced strict Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws within the transport industry. These regulations mandate significant investments, including:
The associated costs have risen substantially over the past 18 months and can no longer be absorbed. To ensure continued compliance and operational safety, a $10 CoR fee per container will be introduced, effective January 1st, 2025.
While we understand that ancillary cost increases are never ideal, these adjustments are necessary to maintain the efficiency and safety of supply chain operations.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support.
Best regards,
Danny Cobb
