GUIDED TOURS EXPLORE AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST PORT UP CLOSE

The Port of Melbourne's Public Boat Tours are back on Saturday 1 and 22 March 2025, with all proceeds going to support the thousands of hard-working and resilient seafarers who work tirelessly to make sure our goods are delivered - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Part of the Port's community and education program, the 90-minute family-friendly guided tours offer a one-of a-kind opportunity to explore Port of Melbourne up close and access areas not normally open to the public!

A great day out for big and little kids alike, each Boat Tour includes expert commentary about the history and operations of Australia's largest capital city container and cargo port. Children can also enjoy fun activities on board, such as face painting and activity packs, and the chance to sit in the captain's chair.

"I've hosted thousands of boat tours over the years, and love sharing the Port's remarkable story - what it does, and what it means for each of us. It's one of Melbourne's best kept secrets!" says Don Forsdyke, tour MC and veteran of the shipping industry.

From sending Australian-grown wheat and wool to China , to bringing our much-loved coffee in from Colombia – the Port of Melbourne supports thousands of jobs and millions of local and global businesses, which in turn impact the daily lives of Aussies everywhere.

Port of Melbourne's Public Boat Tours are a unique and illuminating Melbourne experience, with all proceeds donated to Mission to Seafarers Victoria and Stella Maris Seafarer Centre.
